I am ALL over the place. Literally., Important Information
14 Comments I would like to thank all the little people…..
I got this award.
Its an award that bloggers pass around to other bloggers. Like a chain letter only not as annoying.
It was given to me by Cynthia Acorn over at The Squirrel and His Nuts. She is hilarious. And random. Two of my favorite attributes.
There are some rules for this award that I’m good at reading but not good at comprehending, so I’ll follow the ones I “remember”. There were 7 questions I had to answer….
Like…uhhhh………..What is your favorite song?
This is a horrible question for me because my favorite song has nothing to do with any of my favorite genres. In fact, I might as well say “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” by Cindy Lauper.
No, I can’t even joke about that. That is not my favorite song.
I heard my real favorite song the year I turned 9. It was in 1983.
Any time I hear it, the synthesized cheese still gives me goosebumps.
After we landed in Africa (bizarre turn of events), we had to drive across the great Karoo Desert (lower part of the Kalahari). I kept hearing Africa in my head and it made me feel like this…
No, actually I need to be wearing flowy things….
There we go. It made me feel like that. Still does.
There was another award question that wanted to know my favorite dessert. Please. The question should be “What is your favorite food?”
And then ”What do you do when you’re upset?”
Well, I am of the opinion that you can’t take back your words. My friend Lynn once had her kids empty a tube of toothpaste onto a paper plate and then try to get it all back in the tube (as an illustration). Not possible. I’ve said plenty of things that I regret. But self-control is something that I desperately strive for. Even if my innards don’t always match my outtards……
And then there were some more questions about bread. Or fear.
?
I do actually have bread issues. My brother used to get bread soggy and mold it into cubes. Hork. So I’ll combine those two. I fear soggy, cubed bread.
The next part of the award thingy is that I have to give you 10 random facts about myself. I can’t think that hard. I’ll give you 5.
1. I’ve never owned a Barbie. My favorite item as a child was a discarded book of wallpaper samples that somebody gave me. I kept it under my bed along with the Dillards furniture ads.
2. The Dark Knight bought me a yellow canary for my 30th birthday. I wanted one so bad. I named him Richard and put him on my painting table.
I loved that bird…….
……..for the 14 hours he spent with me before he kicked the bucket.
The next morning he was all dead and stuff. It may have been the paint fumes. I felt horrible.
But we still took him back to the pet-shop and The Dark Knight was all, “You sold us a faulty bird!” And the pet-store guy was all, “No refunds!”
But he did let us have 2 finches instead. I thought this was great until we got them home and I realized that all they ever do is “it“.
We’d have people over to our apartment and our nasty birds were so loud that we couldn’t even hear the awkward silences….
And what do you do with people who don’t have a sense of humor about birds with no sense of decency?
I’m pretty sure they ended up accidentally flying away. The birds, that is….
3.I was once on the morning news when we lived in Chicago. I don’t even remember why. All I know is I was sitting there telling a glazed news anchor about decoupaged boxes. Does anybody remember what I was doing there because I sure don’t….
4. I once hitch-hiked to Roswell New Mexico. It was a bizarre and unfortunate experience which I don’t know if I’ll ever have the fortitude to blog about. All I’ll say now is that there were horses and hippies involved.
5. I am the oldest of 5 kids. I am fiercely protective of my younger siblings.
AAAAANNNNDDDD the final part of this award is passing it along to other bloggers. Ok, which of you do I feel comfortable sending my mother to go see…..
Well, there is The Vintage Vixen. She is all about vintage clothing. I find her beautiful. And interesting in that she totally lives it.
A blog that I just recently started reading is Manhattan Mamma. She doesn’t live in Manhattan anymore. She lives in Abu Dhabi. Fascinating!
And then there is Eden Riley. She is a fantastic writer who wears her scarred heart on her sleeve. She’s Australian. She is rough. And amazing.
As far as illustrated blogs go, I love Books of Adam, although he doesn’t post often. Still, so talented.
And then my favorite arteest. The one I scurry over to as soon as I see a new blog notification (the one I can take mom to read with me)….
GO READ HIM NOW! (but remember me after being dazzled by his greatness)
And that, my friends, is that.
See you tomorrow.

Hahah congrats! A very impressive award acceptance post!
If by “impressive”, you mean “impressive for a 6-year-old”, then yes. I agree. Thanks.
Is there any footage of your interview? Because if it was me and I had that footage, I’d make a couple of hundred different versions with me dubbing in offensive answers to innocuous questions. Fun for the whole family.
I hope all footage has been destroyed! I have my footage from HGTV, though. Maybe I should mess around with it. It’s all on VHS though.
Ok, the lusty finches made me laugh out loud.
Well then you would have been a good friend to have over.
Bahaha I love Gweenbrick! Thanks to Clay Baboon I found him and you! lol. I’m going to check out the others!
Thanks for the recommendations!!!
Isnt he great?? Isn’t SHE great??
