I keep thinking of that verse that says “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
I know Jesus is talking about putting our hope in earthly things as opposed to heavenly things, but for now, I’m going to yank that right out of context and apply it to all my little earthly treasures.
I am weary right down to the core of my very being.
I’ve been that way for a while.
Health things and money things and kid things and creative things.
My heart is in too many places.
I need to prioritize.
I know that this is just one of millions of blogs on the internet, and if my little feed doesn’t show up in your reader, its not the end of the world. But I love my blog. Its MY KIND of journal. I love doing it. I love getting comments. My heart is here.
But for the next few weeks I am going to unplug from the internet and try to get myself together.
Don’t throw yourself off the bleachers just yet. I’ll be back. In 2 weeks.
Until then…. enjoy a Heather-free internet.
Ps- I’ll still be responding to emails in case of an internet crisis!

Take care of Mama!!! so you can take care of your family!!!
Bless you in your break from here!
You definitely have your priorities in order. Love reading your blog, love that you recognize what you need to do and are doing it, and will love the return of blogs in due time. God bless you, Randy, boy and wolf!
Take good care of yourself. I’m just going to sit here in the bleachers and wait. Looking forward to the return of your healthy, centered self .
We’ll miss you, but we understand!
Good for you! Do what you need to do. It will take a lot longer than 2 weeks for any of your readers to forget you.
We’ll be here waiting for you. Take your time and get rested and happy!
This got me all teary-eyed.
Best of luck with your sabbatical (I can call it that, right?)
Enjoy your time off! *internet hugs*
You are doing the right thing. I know you will get to feeling better about it all (life) in time. Your family will benefit as you get your priorites in order. And as a result you will benefit too. We will all be here waiting for your return and if it turns out you dont want to/can’t return please know that your blogs have really brought sunshine to us and laughter. In this world i think laughter is one the most healing things. Love to you and your family!
I’m proud of you for “un-plugging” for a while to get your heart wherever it needs to be. Your blog is awesome – I always enjoy it! It will still be here, so take your time to do what you need to do for you and your family. I am praying for you, Heather!
I second and third every comment above. I really enjoy your blog, and hope all becomes well for you, soon. Good luck, and I hope you do come back to us, for my own selfish laughing self!! I love BLASTYPANTS!!
enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! {jealous. my turn is coming. soon.}
Hope you feel better soon.
I read about a month ago about how people in various european countries sign off for weekends. No email, internet, even cell phones. My partner and I adopted this too, I only go online if she’s busy doing homework, she only goes online if I sleep later than her. We had the internet removed from our cell phones, so when we go out to eat or are driving somewhere, we talk to each other. No more facebook while waiting for food to arrive, or checking my twitter feed and email on the way to the store. It seems like a little thing, but I noticed we spend much more time talking and doing things, instead of distracted by the internet.
Maybe once you’re back you guys can try it too. I feel so much more relaxed and less stressed out. Theres nothing so important going on online that can’t be ignored for two days.
Absolutely perfect priorities. I hope you will feel better soon. We’ll wait.
Taking care of yourself and family is always the most important thing. We look forward to reading your post again soon.
Seems to be going around… I didn’t post at all in the month of September. But you know what? I am the boss of my blog, so I get to decide if it’s taking priority or not. And I totally relate to having way, way too many places for my heart to go.
Have a nice rest, and don’t feel bad if it takes longer than you think to get back to blogging. No one will be mad, we’ll all be glad when you come back.
Take care!
Enjoy!
You take your two weeks off and you come back more awesome. We’ll all be waiting. Everyone needs space from the Internet sometimes.
Ditto what everyone’s said so far!!! (((HUGS)))
I think this is really great and I totally understand – been feeling that way myself. Take your time, but please come back!! xoxo
Do what you have to do. They are MUCH more important than this blog. We’ll be here when you get back.
We’ll be praying for you during these two weeks. Love you.
I will be waiting (impatiently) for your return. I love, love, love your blog and your pictures so it’ll be lonely without you but you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do. Best wishes! Oh, and HAVE FUN!!!
Do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself and your family. We’ll be waiting for ya!
Just want to join the other voices of love and support of you. We hope the time will nourish your weariness and that you will find inspiration and peace in the little bit of heaven that is your family. You are right – they really are your treasure here on earth. Bless you.
Well I just landed in Berlin and am spending a week with my brother. I left my child with his dad. So I’m not sure that my priorities are in the quite the same order as yours. But coincidentally I’ll be home in two weeks and back to it all then. I hope that your internet holiday is great. So far, mine contains a lot of hipsters.
